Second monitor goes to sleep during boot

I have 2 monitors, both connected through DVI to my computer. Xrandr seems to recognize both, and I can move my pointer out of the screen "on to the second one". But as the title says, as soon as I boot into kubuntu (or into grub) the second monitor goes to sleep. It works OK with windows, and the BIOS shows up fine in both.
I'm using an AMD gpu (radeon r9 380) and have installed the amdgpu drivers.
xrandr output:
